Murfreesboro, Tennessee is where the Shores family moved about nine years ago. It was about time that I went to visit them. Their house is not to be believed. Completely renovated by Steven, who then added a batting cage, small baseball field, an Airbnb, and chicken coop built for very spoiled chickens. There is even a spa in the huge garage area, and a refrigerator just for the eggs laid by those spoiled chickens.

There was so much going on that it is difficult to put it all down in my blog. One of the reasons I went to Tennessee was to see my boys play baseball. All four play, but I think Mason actually prefers football (that is a story for another day). I didn’t get to see him play baseball because his practice and game was the week after I left. I did see Declan and Owen practice, and I saw SJ when he played left field and then when he pitched. He’s got some good stuff. My photos aren’t the best, you’ll but get the idea.

On no-baseball days, the family showed me the town’s history. There is plenty of it – a famous Civil War battle field, wonderful historic buildings – and some food that should make this town historic.

On to the Battle at Stones River (The North won that important battle)

Beautiful winery – no time for tasting, specially when the majority of us were under-age.

A gorgeous sunrise from the Shores’ upstairs patio. I add Buc-ee’s here because it is a rest stop to end all rest stops! You could spend a week here!

The Apple Barn and Cedar Mill has a bit of everything……

I fiaally got to cross the Smoky Mountains off my to-do list.

A huge year-around Christmas Store. I couldn’t resist taking a bunch of photos (maybe some ideas for future decorations).

To the Old Mill area for lunch. I add that gorgeous sunset even though too many things were in the way.

Another little adventure on the way to the Nashville Airport. After some sweet breakfast, Steven and Tiffany detoured through Nashville’s Broadway.

I spent 4-1/2 hours in the Nashville Airport – Flight to Atlanta delayed- then missed Atlanta connection. With my Daughter’s help and a very helpful Delta agent, I got a non-stop flight to Lax. I arrived near midnight – but so did my luggage. It was an unexpected LAX pick up for my brother. He was counting on Orange County – but so was I. I made the best of my time though. There is a lot going on at BNA.

The Other Thing – It was a great trip. My “adopted” family is doing well, and live in a lovely home. Steven and Tiffany are good parents, and the boys – are boys. I love them.
